Celebrate NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week 2021 will be celebrated from 4-11 July 2021 around Australia with this years theme ‘Heal Country’.
This year, NAIDOC Week will be celebrated differently to ensure those most vulnerable in our community, such as Elders and those with pre-existing health conditions, are protected from COVID-19.
We encourage you to honour the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples this NAIDOC Week.
  • Find a book to read, written and published by Indigenous Australian authors and illustrators through our Junior (t.ly/GUfZ) and Adult (t.ly/GPl6) NAIDOC suggested reading lists or borrow an eBook from the curated Indyreads list (t.ly/0eja)
  • Listen to local Oral History Project – In our own words (t.ly/1ujF)
  • Suggest a book, TV program or Movie written, illustrated or produced by an Indigenous Australian for purchase by your local library
  • Watch a special NAIDOC week program on SBS/NITV and ABC
  • Watch a NAIDOC themed Story Time on Storybox (t.ly/e8EWs)
  • Virtually attend one of the many of the online events available in the NAIDOC Week Official Calendar
  • Learn more about the Country on which you live and work using the AIATSIS Map of Indigenous Australia (t.ly/0q4I)
  • Check out some music and podcasts from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creators on Indigitube.
  • Support Indigenous businesses through the Supply Nation Indigenous Business Direct.
  • Learn more about how deliver an Acknowledgement of Country
  • Find out more about the history of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags and how you can fly them.
  • Get creative in the kitchen using Australian bushfood and native ingredients such as kangaroo, macadamia or lemon myrtle.
  • Research Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history or start some family history research.
  • Visit the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander exhibitions of museums and galleries in-person or online.
