ABOUT CHRIS MASTERS:
Chris Masters PSM is a powerful force in Australian journalism. A multi Walkley Award winner, his reports ‘The Big League’ and ‘The Moonlight State’ both led to royal commissions that helped transform the nation.
Masters is Australia’s unofficial Afghanistan war historian. He spent a total of three months embedded with Australian soldiers in Afghanistan in 2006 and 2010, including with special forces in 2011. He remains the only journalist to embed with Australian Special Forces, and he has had unparalleled access over many years to front line soldiers of all stripes, and the officer corps including senior leadership.
He is the author of the bestselling Jonestown, Uncommon Soldier and No Front Line.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Flawed Hero: Truth, Lies and War Crimes by Chris Masters, Australia’s foremost investigative journalist, is the definitive account of the extraordinary Ben Roberts-Smith story and the defamation trial of the century. Masters spent three months embedded with Australian soldiers and special forces personnel in Afghanistan over the course of five years. He was the first to investigate the spectacular rise and stunning fall of Ben Roberts-Smith, and this is his authoritative and complete account.
