Pup!-Art – ‘Well Heeled’

On Display at Muswellbrook Library until October 16.

Muswellbrook Shire Libraries is pleased to host Pup!-Art – ‘Well Heeled’ exhibition.
A Muswellbrook Shire Council Community Services art project celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Blue Heeler Film Festival. This project aims to cultivate a vibrant atmosphere of community solidarity and positivity.
Participants in the “Pup!-Art” project include Muswellbrook Public School, Sandy Hollow Quilters Group, St James Public School, Wanaruah LALC, Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre, Upper Hunter Youth Services and the Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries.
Each of these groups was given a white fiberglass life-size Blue Heeler sculpture as a canvas for their creativity, and a goal to create a one-of-a-kind design that reflects their unique contributions within the Muswellbrook Shire.
These white fiberglass sculptures symbolise the journey of Blue Heeler pups. Just like these dogs, who are born with a pristine white coat that gradually matures into shades of blue-grey or red, these sculptures have been transformed into one-of-a-kind canines through the creative hands of the participating groups.
The project not only showcases the artistic talent of our community but also highlights the significance of the Blue Heeler breed in local culture. This remarkable initiative unites our community groups through art and a collective admiration for the remarkable Blue Heeler breed. It has generated a captivating visual display and aims to foster a strong sense of community pride.
