Welcome to the Muswellbrook Shire Libraries eNewsletter – the best way to stay up to date with all the news and events from the Muswellbrook and Denman Branches. Don’t forget to follow us on our new Instagram or Facebook for ongoing news and events.

This month Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries have a range of activities for all ages, including an author visit with Cathryn Hein and school holiday activities. Be sure to check out what’s on below and contact your local branch for more information.

A reminder that our branches will be closed for the Easter Long Weekend, from Friday March 29 to Monday April 1 inclusive.

Our activities are inclusive. Please contact Muswellbrook or Denman library if you would like to discuss any supports for your family prior to attending.

LATEST NEWS

ANZAC Day Closure

Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries will be closed on Thursday April 25 for ANZAC Day.

Our Muswellbrook and Denman Branches will re-open on Friday, April 26 from 10am.

Both branch’s returns chute will be available during this time for any returns.

Tech Savvy Seniors
Commencing in May

Come along to our free Tech Savvy Seniors workshops commencing in May at Muswellbrook Library where we’ll show you how to use a computer, access the internet, safely navigate online and more!

CURRENT EXHIBITS

MILITARY MEMORABILIA EXHIBIT WITH TERRY GILL
April 8th – 30th.

We are very privileged at the Muswellbrook Library to soon have on display an amazing exhibition of military memorabilia courtesy of a Shire local, Terry Gill.

This vast collection covers many conflicts. Leading up to ANZAC Day it is wonderful to be able to showcase these items in remembering our veterans. Be sure to take the time to come and have a look.

WHAT’S ON FOR CHILDREN

CREATIVE FOOD CHALLENGE AT MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY

Join us at Muswellbrook Library these school holidays for a hands on creative food challenge.
This activity will be held on Wednesday, April 17 from 10:30am and is suitable for ages 6-13.

Bookings are essential for all school holiday activities.

Please notify staff of any food allergies in advance of this activity.

CLAY CREATIONS AT DENMAN LIBRARY

Come along to the Denman Library these school holidays and create your own Autumn inspired clay mobile.
This activity will be held on Friday, April 19 from 10:30am and is suitable for ages 6-13.

Join us weekly at our story time and rhyme sessions filled with stories, song and creativity.

Baby Rhyme Time: Monday mornings at 10:00AM – 10:45AM

Story Time and Craft: Thursday mornings at 10:00AM – 11:00AM

STEM Story Time: The third Thursday of the month from 10:00AM-11:00AM

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Rhyme Time sessions will run weekly on Mondays from 10:00AM.

LEGO CLUB

Join in on Lego building challenges that will make you think outside the box and push your building skills to the limit. Bookings are essential.

MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Muswellbrook Library’s Lego Club is held on the first and third Mondays of each month.
Monday, March 4 and 18 from 3:45PM to 4:45PM.

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSION

Denman Library’s Lego Club is held on the second Monday of each month.
Wednesday, March 13 from 3:30PM to 4:30PM.

HOME LIBRARY SERVICE

Did you know we run a free home library service to housebound members of the Muswellbrook and Denman Communities? We can pick for you, or you can use our online catalogue to make a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Audio books that pique your interest. We also have audio readers available for members with low to no vision.

Deliveries will be made on April 2nd, 16th & 30th.

These BYO device sessions are designed to help you get started on library digital collections, learn how to use your device and general tech assistance.

These sessions can be booked one-on-one for a maximum of half an hour.
