This month Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries have a range of activities for all ages, including author visits with Stefan Sokulsky and Chris Masters, and Tech Savvy Seniors sessions. Be sure to check out what’s on below and contact your local branch for more information.

Where’s the Source?

Visit Muswellbrook and Denman Library during Library and Information Week as we celebrate the essential role Library services provide in identifying and accessing information.​It is no secret that libraries and library staff are sources of information. Providing access and guidance to the community through the now countless amounts of information channels at our disposal is one of the most basic and essential services that the sector provides.

This Library and Information Week we’re going back to those basics, back to the idea of the ‘source’, and bringing into focus where information comes from, who created it and why it appears in the way that it does.

Tech Savvy Seniors

Are your keen to improve on your digital skills or know someone that is? Come along to our free Tech Savvy Seniors workshops commencing in August at Muswellbrook Library where we’ll show you how to use a computer, access the internet, safely navigate online and more!

Read, Grow, Inspire: Book Week 2023
August 19 – August 25

Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through Children’s Book Week®. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children’s authors and illustrators.

Visit your local branch this week to check out this year’s short listed books and Rhyme Time and Story Time activities at the library!

STORY TIME AND BABY RHYME TIME

Join us weekly at our story time and rhyme sessions filled with stories, song and creativity.

MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Baby Rhyme Time: Monday mornings at 10:00AM – 10:45AM

Story Time and Craft: Thursday mornings at 10:00AM – 11:00AM

STEM Story Time: The third Thursday of the month from 10:00AM-11:00AM

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Rhyme Time sessions will run weekly on Mondays from 10:00AM.

LEGO CLUB

Join in on Lego building challenges that will make you think outside the box and push your building skills to the limit.

MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Muswellbrook Library’s Lego Club is held on the first and third Mondays of each month.
Monday, August 7 and 21 from 3:45PM to 4:45PM.

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSION

Denman Library’s Lego Club is held on the second Monday of each month.
Monday, August 14 from 3:30PM to 4:30PM.

Suitable for ages 6 – 12 years.
Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

OUR SERVICES

HOME LIBRARY SERVICE

Did you know we run a free home library service to housebound members of the Muswellbrook and Denman Communities? We can pick for you, or you can use our online catalogue to make a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Audio books that pique your interest. We also have audio readers available for members with low to no vision.

Deliveries will be made on August 8 and 22.

These BYO device sessions are designed to help you get started on library digital collections, learn how to use your device and general tech assistance.
