Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud
NAIDOC Week, 7 – 14 July 2024

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

To celebrate NAIDOC Week our libraries will be hosting the following sessions:

Join us at Denman Library on Thursday, July 11 from 10am and create bookmarks by decorating gum leaves and paperbark using inspiration from First Nations Artists.
Suitable for ages 0-13years. Bookings are essential. Contact Denman Library on 6547-2208 to book.

Muswellbrook Library will be hosting a NAIDOC Week Story Time session on July 11 from 10am. Suitable for ages 3-5, siblings welcome!

Throughout July our Muswellbrook and Denman branches will be highlighting stories written, illustrated and about First Nations peoples. Be sure to visit your local branch!

First Years First Aid at Muswellbrook Library
Tuesday, July 23rd from 10am to 1pm

At some point, every family will experience a baby or child health concern. Learn how to deal with it calmly in our specialised baby and child health workshops.

This session concentrates on the newborn stage right through to about 8 years of age and is run by a qualified Intensive Care Paramedic, with over a decades worth of experience. Focusing on providing real life, practical advice, we want to ensure you can respond with confidence when faced with a crisis.

This is a Free workshop courtesy of The Welcome Experience.

HSC Trial Examinations at Muswellbrook  Library
July 22nd – August 2nd

Trial HSC examinations will commence at the Muswellbrook Library from, Monday 22nd July until Friday 2nd August.

As a result there are changes to entry into our library. Please follow all directional signage when visiting and utilise our side pathway up to the front door during exams.

Please contact the library on 6543-1913 if you have any concerns or require assistance access our facilities during this time.

Baby Rhyme Time: Monday mornings at 10:00AM – 10:45AM

Story Time and Craft: Thursday mornings at 10:00AM – 11:00AM

STEM Story Time: The third Thursday of the month from 10:00AM-11:00AM

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Rhyme Time sessions will run weekly on Mondays from 10:00AM.

Muswellbrook Library’s Lego Club is held on the first and third Mondays of each month.
Monday, July 1 and 15 from 3:45PM to 4:45PM.

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSION

Denman Library’s Lego Club is held on the second Monday of each month.
Wednesday, July 10 from 3:30PM to 4:30PM.

CIRCLE TIME AT MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY 

Join us at Muswellbrook Library for an interactive Circle Time sessions. Read some books, do activities, learn some new songs and let’s move to the beat! Suitable for ages 0-6 years.

Circle Time sessions will be fortnightly on Tuesdays. Sessions this month will be held on Tuesdays, July 2, 16 & 30 from 10am.

HOME LIBRARY SERVICE

Did you know we run a free home library service to housebound members of the Muswellbrook and Denman Communities? We can pick for you, or you can use our online catalogue to make a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Audio books that pique your interest. We also have audio readers available for members with low to no vision.
