Reading naught to 5: Dolly Parton Imagination Library launches in Muswellbrook ShireMuswellbrook families will unlock a world of reading from today with the acclaimed Dolly Parton Imagination Library now delivering to homes in the Shire. The award-winning program founded by the beloved entertainer and philanthropist will gift a free, high-quality children’s book each month to every child in Muswellbrook Shire born after July 1, delivered to their home from birth to age five. The initiative comes to Muswellbrook kids in partnership between AGL, Muswellbrook Shire Libraries, United Way Australia and Hunter New England Health with the goal to boost early literacy, strengthen family bonds and spark a lifelong love of reading. |

Change of Entry for Muswellbrook Library
Trial HSC examinations will commence at the Muswellbrook Library from, Monday 21st July until Friday 25th July.
As a result, there are changes to entry into our library. Please follow all directional signage when visiting and utilise our side pathway up to the front door during exams.
Please contact the library on 6543-1913 if you have any concerns or require assistance access our facilities during this time.
What’s on for Children
STORY TIME AND BABY RHYME TIME
Join us weekly at our story time and rhyme sessions filled with stories, song and creativity.
MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS
Baby Rhyme Time: Monday mornings at 10:00AM – 10:45AM
Story Time and Craft: Thursday mornings at 10:00AM – 11:00AM
DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSIONS
Rhyme Time sessions will run weekly on Mondays from 10:00AM.

LEGO CLUB
Join in on Lego building challenges that will make you think outside the box and push your building skills to the limit. Bookings are essential.
MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS
Muswellbrook Library’s Lego Club is held on the first and third Mondays of each month.Mondays, July 7 and 21 from 3:45PM to 4:45PM.
DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSION
Denman Library’s Lego Club is held on the third Tuesday of each month.Tuesday, July 15 from 3:20PM to 4:20PM.

Suitable for ages 6 – 12 years.
Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
CIRCLE TIME AT MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY
Join us at Muswellbrook Library for an interactive Circle Time session, that will be filled with movement, music and craft! Suitable for ages 0-6 years.
Circle Time sessions will be fortnightly on Tuesdays. Sessions this month will be held on Tuesdays, July 1, 15 and 29 from 10AM.
CREATIVITY STATIONS AT DENMAN LIBRARY
Create and collaborate on arts and crafts projects in our self-directed after school activity.
These stations will be available on Monday, Tuesday and Fridays after 3PM
Suitable for ages 3-12 years. Siblings are welcome.
CODING CLUB AT DENMAN LIBRARY
Learn how to code, build with Lego Technic and more in these interactive monthly sessions at Denman Library.
Bookings essential.
Sessions will be held monthly on the first Tuesday of each month.
The next session will he held on Tuesday August 5 at 3:20PM to 4:20PM

BEN’S BOOK CLUB
Join Ben Hobson in conversation with author Jane Caro to discuss her latest twisty thriller that will keep you in its grip until the last page, ‘Lyrebird’.
This month’s session will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd, at 7:30PM AEST
BOOK CLUB AT THE LIBRARY
Joining a book club can be a fun and interesting way to meet people as well as indulging your love of reading.

Did you know we run a free home library service to housebound members of the Muswellbrook and Denman Communities? We can pick for you, or you can use our online catalogue to make a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Audio books that pique your interest. We also have audio readers available for members with low to no vision.

Our FREE Click and Collect services are now available at Muswellbrook and Denman Branches to eligible library members. Reserve things you are interested in or let us make selections for you.

These BYO device sessions are designed to help you get started on library digital collections, learn how to use your device and general tech assistance.
These sessions can be booked one-on-one for a maximum of half an hour.
