Community Open Day and Book Swap
Join us for a FREE fun-filled community Open Day at Muswellbrook Library – activities, historical displays and a book swap!
The fun starts on Saturday 7 March
from 10:00am – 2:00pm at Muswellbrook Library.
NSW Seniors Festival – Kaleidoscope Nights
Join us for a free evening of fun, trivia and laughter on Saturday 7 March from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Start at Muswellbrook Library and join local drag personality Marcia Monterey for trivia, a colourful histories walking tour and a private tour of the Archibald Prize 2025 at the Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre.
Exhibitions
As Time Goes By…
Currently On Exhibit at the Muswellbrook Library.
The Muswellbrook Local & Family History Society presents this nostalgic collection of objects, from Kodak and Agfa box cameras to typewriters and a butter churner!
The majority of these items’ functions can now be done on a mobile phone… how time flies! Not the butter churner, though maybe there’s an app for that… Spark fond memories and explore these nostalgic wonders at Muswellbrook Library.

Muswellbrook Library is proud to host Lionel Ahearn’s exquisite collection of hand-crafted wooden figurines, featuring beloved characters from your favourite childhood stories.

Upper Hunter Show Inc. Exhibit
Currently On Exhibit at the Muswellbrook Library.
Step back in time with the Upper Hunter Show Inc. and their exhibition of past photographs, trophies and show paraphernalia on display at the Muswellbrook Library.
This display celebrates the rich history of the Upper Hunter Show and builds excitement for the 2026 event!

BABY RHYME TIME
Join us weekly at our rhyme time sessions filled with stories, movement and song.
MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS
Baby Rhyme Time: Monday mornings from 10:00AM – 10:45AM
Join us for an Easter themed Rhyme Time at Muswellbrook Library on Monday 30th of March featuring Easter and bunny themed songs and a story!
DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSIONS
Baby Rhyme Time: Monday mornings from 10:00AM – 11:00AM
Suitable for ages 0-3 years.
STORY TIME AND CRAFT
Share interactive stories and craft at Muswellbrook Library.
Story Time and Craft sessions are held weekly on Thursday mornings from 10:00AM – 11:00AM.
Suitable for ages 3 – 5 years.
Younger siblings are also welcome!

BILINGUAL UKRAINIAN STORY TIME AND CRAFT
Join us for an extra special bilingual Story Time and Craft in Ukrainian and English at Muswellbrook Library!
This session will be on Thursday 26 March from 10:00AM – 11:00AM.
Suitable for ages 3 – 5 years.
Younger siblings are also welcome!
CIRCLE TIME AT MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY
Join us at Muswellbrook Library for an interactive Circle Time session, that will be filled with movement, music and craft! Suitable for ages 0-6 years.
Circle Time sessions will be fortnightly on Tuesdays. Sessions this month will be held on Tuesday, 10 February and Tuesday, 24 February from 10AM.
What’s on for Teens
DIY ZINE WORKSHOP WITH BASTIAN FOX PHELAN
Join writer, musician and zine artist Bastian Fox Phelan as they share a guided workshop on creating zines!
Get creative on Saturday 21 March from 9:30am – 1:30pm at Muswellbrook Library.
This activity is suitable for ages 11 – 18. All materials and lunch provided. Bookings essential. Please contact Muswellbrook Library on 6543 1913.
Attendees under 13 years must have a guardian present.
What’s on for Adults
LIBBY READS WITH BEN HOBSON
Join Ben Hobson in conversation with author Toby Schmitz as they discuss Toby’s razor-sharp, mind-bendingly clever novel, ‘The Empress Murders’. This month’s session will be held on Tuesday, 24th March, at 7:30PM AEDT
BOOK CLUB AT THE LIBRARY
Joining a book club can be a fun and interesting way to meet people as well as indulging your love of reading.

LAUGH AND LEARN SOCIAL CLUB
Looking for a fun way to connect, share, and pick up new skills? Join our welcoming library group where community members take turns teaching and learning together.
From knitting and card games to cooking tips, crafts, music, or storytelling – there’s always something new to try (and a friendly face to share it with).
This month’s session will be on Wednesday 11th February from 11am at Muswellbrook Library and features watercolour painting!
UPPER HUNTER CASUAL CROCHET CREW AT MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY
Come along and share your skills, ideas and crochet tips and tricks and in a social setting over a cuppa each fortnight at Muswellbrook Library.
UPPER HUNTER WRITERS COLLECTIVE MEETING
Join the Upper Hunter Writers Collective at the Muswellbrook Library each month for motivation, support and feedback from others who have a passion for writing.

CHILDREN’S EARLY READING PROGRAMS
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Thanks to the generous support of our funding partner, AGL, eligible families can now access this program at no cost. This program delivers a free, high-quality, age-appropriate book each month to children from birth until their fifth birthday — helping to build early literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading. Children born on or after July 1, 2025, are eligible to register!

Rising Readers: 1000 Books Before School
Reading helps build social and emotional skills, sparks creativity and imagination, promotes bonding, and helps kids do well overall in school. This reading program is open for children ages 0-5 years and aims to add reading to your daily routines!!

HOME LIBRARY SERVICE
Did you know we run a free home library service to housebound members of the Muswellbrook and Denman Communities? We can pick for you, or you can use our online catalogue to make a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Audio books that pique your interest. We also have audio readers available for members with low to no vision.
