This month Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries have a range of activities for all ages, including an author visit with Tea Cooper along with our Drug and Alcohol Info Pop-Up and Remembrance Day exhibit from Terry Gill. Be sure to check out what’s on below and contact your local branch for more information.

Drug and Alcohol Info Pop-Up
October 30 – November 17

The Drug & Alcohol Info Pop-Up is a travelling interactive information display providing access to quality drug and alcohol information for the community.

Muswellbrook Library visitors can test their knowledge about different drugs and alcohol, browse the books and free pamphlets or take part in an event at the library.
This pop-up includes the Drug Fact Finder, which is an interactive tablet-based display that contains information about the effects of different drugs and alcohol and can quiz you on your knowledge.

Tech Savvy Seniors at Muswellbrook Library

Are your keen to improve on your digital skills or know someone that is? Come along to our free Tech Savvy Seniors workshops commencing in November at Muswellbrook Library where we’ll show you how to use a computer, access the internet, safely navigate online and more!

There are places still available for our November sessions, call us on 6543 1913 to book your spot or for more information.

Tech Savvy Seniors NSW is a partnership between the NSW Government, the State Library of NSW and Telstra.

National Recycling Week
November 13 – November 19

National Recycling Week, established by Planet Ark in 1996, is held every year during the second week of November (13th to the 19th November 2023).
Reducing our waste not only keeps valuable materials out of landfill it also benefits the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Thinking about our waste provides some valuable insight into how the recycling and resource management industry works in conjunction to your efforts.

Muswellbrook Library will be hosting a Story Time session with our Sustainability Team to help you “Rethink Your Waste” on Thursday November 23^rd from 10am.

REMEMBRANCE DAY DISPLAY FROM TERRY GILL

On display until November 30

We are very privileged at the Muswellbrook Library to have on display an amazing exhibition of military memorabilia courtesy of a Shire local, Terry Gill.

This vast collection covers many conflicts. Leading up to Remembrance Day it is wonderful to be able to showcase these items in remembering our veterans. Be sure to take the time to come and have a look.

STORY TIME AND BABY RHYME TIME

Join us weekly at our story time and rhyme sessions filled with stories, song and creativity.

MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Baby Rhyme Time: Monday mornings at 10:00AM – 10:45AM

Story Time and Craft: Thursday mornings at 10:00AM – 11:00AM

STEM Story Time: The third Thursday of the month from 10:00AM-11:00AM

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Rhyme Time sessions will run weekly on Mondays from 10:00AM.

LEGO CLUB

Join in on Lego building challenges that will make you think outside the box and push your building skills to the limit.

MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Muswellbrook Library’s Lego Club is held on the first and third Mondays of each month.
Monday, November 6 and 20 from 3:45PM to 4:45PM.

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSION

Denman Library’s Lego Club is held on the second Monday of each month.
Monday, November 13 from 3:30PM to 4:30PM.

Suitable for ages 6 – 12 years.
Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

OUR SERVICES

HOME LIBRARY SERVICE

Did you know we run a free home library service to housebound members of the Muswellbrook and Denman Communities? We can pick for you, or you can use our online catalogue to make a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Audio books that pique your interest. We also have audio readers available for members with low to no vision.

Deliveries will be made on November 14th and 28th.
