This month Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries have a range of activities for all ages, including author visits with Sandie Docker and Scott Bevan, and our School Holiday activities. Be sure to check out what’s on below and contact your local branch for more information.
Our activities are inclusive. Please contact Muswellbrook or Denman library if you would like to discuss any supports for your family prior to attending.

LATEST NEWS
Preliminary Examinations at Muswellbrook Library
Year 11 Preliminary examinations will commence at the Muswellbrook Library from, Monday 11th September until Wednesday 20th September.
As a result there are changes to entry into our library. Please follow all directional signage when visiting and utilise our side pathway up to the front door during exams.
Please contact the library on 6543-1913 if you have any concerns or require assistance access our facilities during this time.

Reminiscence of Muswellbrook Shire
Wednesday September 6 | 10AM
Muswellbrook Library is celebrating this years History Week theme ‘Voices from the past’ by inviting residents of the Muswellbrook Shire to share their stories of growing up within the area. What has changed? What was your favourite pastime? What has changed the most within the area?
Interviews will be included in the Muswellbrook Shire Library Oral History Collection.
These sessions will take place on Wednesday, 6th September from 10am
Bookings are essential for this event. Recording sessions will take 30-40 minutes.

CURRENT EXHIBITS
CLOSE TO HOME BY JENNIFER STUERZL
On display until October
Jennifer Stuerzl is Muswellbrook-born artist, with her family still resident in the region.
As an artist her vision is attuned to the natural world, with a change of aesthetic visible across the diversity of the landscapes that she has experienced and documented.
Using media including watercolour, acrylic and ink to produce paintings, artist books and prints, she summons the tactile and sensual qualities of particular places, often embedding sediments, feathers and other evidence of the site within the work.

PUP!-ART – ‘WELL HEELED’
On display until October 16
A Muswellbrook Shire Council Community Services art project celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Blue Heeler Film Festival. This project aims to cultivate a vibrant atmosphere of community solidarity and positivity.
Groups were given a white fiberglass life-size Blue Heeler sculpture as a canvas for their creativity, and a goal to create a one-of-a-kind design that reflects their unique contributions within the Muswellbrook Shire.

STORY TIME AND BABY RHYME TIME
Join us weekly at our story time and rhyme sessions filled with stories, song and creativity.
MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS
Baby Rhyme Time: Monday mornings at 10:00AM – 10:45AM
Story Time and Craft: Thursday mornings at 10:00AM – 11:00AM
STEM Story Time: The third Thursday of the month from 10:00AM-11:00AM
DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSIONS
Rhyme Time sessions will run weekly on Mondays from 10:00AM.

Muswellbrook Library’s Lego Club is held on the first and third Mondays of each month.
Monday, September 4 and 18 from 3:45PM to 4:45PM.
DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSION
Denman Library’s Lego Club is held on the second Monday of each month.
Monday, September 11 from 3:30PM to 4:30PM.

Did you know we run a free home library service to housebound members of the Muswellbrook and Denman Communities? We can pick for you, or you can use our online catalogue to make a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Audio books that pique your interest. We also have audio readers available for members with low to no vision.
Deliveries will be made on September 5 and 19.
