Tech Savvy Seniors 

Are your keen to improve on your digital skills or know someone that is? Want to become a Tech Savvy Senior?!

Come along to our free Tech Savvy Seniors workshops commencing on September 10th at Muswellbrook Library where we’ll show you how to use a computer, access the internet, safely navigate online and more!

We will have weekly sessions over five weeks with guided tutorials, hands on experience and more.
Spaces are limited. Call us on 6543 1913 for more information and to book your spot.

Tech Savvy Seniors NSW is a partnership between the NSW Government, the State Library of NSW and Telstra.

Changes to entry at Muswellbrook Library from September 15th to 22nd

Year 11 examinations will commence at the Muswellbrook Library from, Monday 15th September until Monday 22nd September.

As a result, there are changes to entry into our library. Please follow all directional signage when visiting and utilise our side pathway up to the front door during exams.

Please contact the library on 6543-1913 if you have any concerns or require assistance access our facilities during this time.

Join Jim Haynes OAM as he shares insights into his books about Australian history and culture, his life as an entertainer, broadcaster and musician, and more at Muswellbrook Library.

About Jim: The son of British migrants, Jim attended Sydney Boys’ High and Sydney Teachers’ College, taught in schools and universities in NSW and Britain, has two masters’ degrees in literature, and is the author of 34 books.
A professional entertainer since 1988, Jim has written many songs and is the Australiana expert on Radio 2GB. Jim was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the Australia Day Honour’s List in 2016, ‘for service to the performing arts as an entertainer, author, broadcaster and historian’.

Santa Gertrudis Collection
On Exhibit until October
At the Muswellbrook Library.

Muswellbrook Library is featuring a new exhibit by local resident Ted George.
The exhibit showcases a unique collection focused on Santa Gertrudis cattle will be on display until October. The display includes historic photographs, sales brochures, and detailed breed information, all drawn from Ted’s long-standing interest and knowledge of the breed.

SPRING SAFE STORY TIME
Celebrate Spring with a Story Time that could save a life!

This Spring, Muswellbrook Shire Libraries are proud to be part of the Kids Alive Spring Safe Storytime Campaign, in partnership with ALIA and the Kids Alive team. We’re inviting families with children under five to join us for a special spring event—an interactive experience combining stories, music, dancing and sensory activities that teach children how to stay safe around water.

LEGO CLUB

Join in on Lego building challenges that will make you think outside the box and push your building skills to the limit. Bookings are essential.

MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY’S SESSIONS

Muswellbrook Library’s Lego Club is held on the first and third Mondays of each month.
Monday, September 1 and 15 from 3:45PM to 4:45PM.

DENMAN LIBRARY’S SESSION

Denman Library’s Lego Club is held on the third Tuesday of each month.
Tuesday, September 16 from 3:20PM to 4:20PM.

Suitable for ages 6 – 12 years.
Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

CIRCLE TIME AT MUSWELLBROOK LIBRARY 

Join us at Muswellbrook Library for an interactive Circle Time session, that will be filled with movement, music and craft! Suitable for ages 0-6 years.

Circle Time sessions will be fortnightly on Tuesdays. Sessions this month will be held on Tuesdays, September 9 and 23 from 10am.

CODING CLUB AT DENMAN LIBRARY

Learn how to code, build with Lego Technic and more in these interactive monthly sessions at Denman Library.
Bookings essential.

Sessions will be held monthly on the first Tuesday of each month.
The next session will he held on Tuesday September 2 at 3:20PM to 4:20PM

CHILDREN’S EARLY READING PROGRAMS 

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Thanks to the generous support of our funding partner, AGL, eligible families can now access this program at no cost. This program delivers a free, high-quality, age-appropriate book each month to children from birth until their fifth birthday — helping to build early literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading. Children born on or after July 1, 2025, are eligible to register!

Rising Readers: 1000 Books Before School
Reading helps build social and emotional skills, sparks creativity and imagination, promotes bonding, and helps kids do well overall in school. This reading program is open for children ages 0-5 years and aims to add reading to your daily routines!!

HOME LIBRARY SERVICE

Did you know we run a free home library service to housebound members of the Muswellbrook and Denman Communities? We can pick for you, or you can use our online catalogue to make a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Audio books that pique your interest. We also have audio readers available for members with low to no vision.

Deliveries will be made on September 2nd, 16th and 30th.
