Filmmaking Essentials Workshop – Years 3-6

Looking to get started in filmmaking? This workshop for students in years 3-6 is for you!

Join Allan Brady from Newcastle film school as they guide participants step-by-step through film making essentials in this hands on workshop for students in years 3-6.

The session will introduce students to the core ideas behind visual storytelling and filmmaking in a practical and accessible format, including:

• Story structure and developing simple creative ideas
• Camera basics including framing, movement, and visual storytelling
• Sound, performance, and how emotion is created on screen
• Collaboration and understanding different on-set filmmaking roles
• Basic editing concepts and how scenes are assembled into a finished piece

BYO tablet or phone if you are able.

This inclusive activity is open for students in years 3-6. Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times. Please contact our Muswellbrook Branch if you would like to discuss any supports for your family prior to attending.
